Yes, getting at the root causes of the class of things  that includes
religions, nationalism, ideologies, etc, is a great way to dealing
with the whole raft of them instead of just one and as a side benefit
makes it near impossible for the defenders of true faith in one of
them to use the others as exceptions (Christians playing the Stalin
card) as the religion of the Christian and the Socialism of Stalin are
both parts of the class of things that is being called into question.

Oddly familiar, yes.
