What would health care be without the religious folks burning the
early practitioners as witches, stopping advancements becuase it is
against gods will, instructing many of their flock to not use certain
medical advances as it is against the will of the church (birth
control), etc etc.

Also, what better way to spread a power base than create more assets
in the tax exempt  realm where you can give care AND spread the word
to bolster the flock count?

Are all religious proects evil?  No, many protects hosted by religious
groups do a lot of good. But in this case they do it by using the
products and knowledge that have been gained in spite of relgionous
authorities..Amazing aint it..

This goes back to the oft used tactic that no good can happen unless
its based on a god of some sort.

Yes oh thank GOD for religions to censor, burn, jail, damn as immoral,
 beat, torture, call fatawahs on and harass in general musicians,
writers, artists and creative types now and in the past..and into the
future it would seem.

Where would we be without all them god fearing bastions of art,
science and humanity across these ages of Gods Great Love?
