Well, since I see that FoRK's been around with a significant and  
surprisingly stable core membership for a VERY long time  
(particularly in Internet terms), and I don't see a FoLK anywhere  
with any sort of history, I'd object to that characterization.   
However much you might like to identify "I (Lion) can't get critical  
mass on my ideas on this list" with "failure" --- I don't think this  
in any sense an accurate assessment of THE LIST.
