When you try to speak for all of physics, people will ask 'where is
the data', and you'll be judged right or wrong based on how well you
can justify yourself.

When he tries to speak for the church, what will they ask? "Do his
ideologies reinforce my ideologies?" "Do his fears reinforce my
fears?" "Do his poor interpretation of the poorly translated
scribblings of poor desert goat herders of two-three thousand years
ago comport with my poor interpretation of poorly translated
scribblings of poor desert goat herders of two-three thousand years
ago?"

People who rely on mythology to frame their worldview have only
themselves to blame when the rest of us lump them all together, since
they have no sane reference by which they can fairly say 'he is not
ours'.
