Sure.  That doesn't mean that either position is objectively "wrong."   
That in part is what separates this kind of thing from the discussion  
about religion.  Cosmology isn't a matter of opinion.

You've never seen me interact with an Apple fanboy, have you?  AFAIK,  
we don't have anybody on-list that *I* (at least) would include in  
that category.  Apple User != Apple Fanboy, necessarily.

I see where you're going with that.  And yeah, nobody's --- or at  
least I'm not --- claiming that Apple's behavior in the space is  
entirely altruistic or positive --- indeed, I'll stipulate the  
contrary.  OTOH, you've gotta pick your battles.  They aren't evil  
enough *yet* for the cons to outweigh the pros, IMHO.

That could easily change in the future.

Same can be said for Google, FWIW.

Congrats, though that's a weak excuse. ;-)  I bought a house back in  
October that could've eaten 3 of my previous house --- talk about  
selling out your principles, if anybody wants to beat me up (Russell)  
they should aim at *that* decision.  Ugh, it's a pain in the ass.  We  
just finished the paint a couple of weeks ago.  Spent the entire  
weekend replacing doorknobs.

Now *that* is sweet.  I loves me a good fireplace...

(OT, one of these days we should talk radios off-list.  I'm probably  
going to be installing an under-the-eaves aerial in one of the attics,  
but I'm a wet noob when it comes to that stuff.)
