It doesn't. It was only a few days ago that Mac was lampooned for its
default monitor settings, but everyone is supposed to assume the exact
Linux distro you meant but didn't name for consideration in your
sweeping generalization?

Of course they are old hat, but they usually take the form of "MS

So what? You didn't claim that the most popular, user-friendly distro
of Linux was simpler to set up and maintain than XP in a coherent way.

Ah, as if your anecdotal experience does not vary from the majority of
business and home users. MS users are getting fed up with buggy code
that is vulnerable to exploits, not code that just won't work because
of missing drivers issues or that comes with another, much differently-
oriented learning curve. Perhaps you should describe your particular
experiences with XP, what exactly was it that vexed you? Validation?
You did have the necessary licenses, didn't you?
As for the subject line, Vista isn't even an install once IMO, I'll
never purchase it. Ever. If ever it is given to me, I'll format first
and install something else.
