BTW, hence my use of a "hypothetical" Russell. ;-)  (It was easier for  
the purposes of the discussion to make the notion of an asset like an  
oil well concrete, and to not mess w/ the partial ownership;  and  
easier to contemplate expatriating contracting income rather than  
regular income.)

As for sweat equity and capital gains and your prospects for an  
eventual windfall --- and how that might be impacted by demonizing  
e.g. PE guys --- see my next post about private equity, venture  
capitalists, entrepreneurs, and the delicately balanced machine that  
is our tax policy as regards that sort of activity...
