[FoRK] Do No Evil? WTF is this then?

I work at Oracle now, but used to work at Google...
All due respect, unless you work there, you have no idea of the magnitude of
the perks employees get. Free food for you, anyone you want to bring over,
nap rooms, etc., etc... There is a reason Google has been rated no. 1
employer a few times by various publications.
If you don't want to use their day-care, you don't have to. You can get
your own. I have a kid and another one coming... I'm an independent and
probably vote democrat more often than not, but I definitely don't think
it's the employer's RESPONSIBILITY to provide day-care.
And, who in the world pays $1425/month for quality day-care in California?
Certainly not me nor anyone else I know with a kid

( Please note that I am a stay at home dad whose youngest (age 3) is
in daycare (a cost we carry because the daycare has been a rpoven
sucess at socialization and learning skillage)..I have the 5 year old
with me when he is not in public school ..so I am used to paying for
daycare...but this shit...oi)
"Parents who had been paying $1,425 a month for infant care would see
their costs rise to nearly $2,500 — well above the market rate. For
parents with toddlers and preschoolers, who were charged less, the
price increases were equally eye-popping. Under the new plan, parents
with two kids in Google day care would most likely see their annual
day care bill grow to more than $57,000 from around $33,000."
"Sergey Brin said he had no sympathy for the parents, and that he was
tired of "Googlers" who felt entitled to perks like "bottled water and
M&Ms," according to several people in the meeting. (A Google spokesman
denies that Mr. Brin made that comment.) On Monday, Google began the
first phase of its new day care plan, letting go of the outside day
care firm it had been using."
2.5k a month.. you had better be feeding them kobe beef and uni whilst
they are being massaged and watching a live private showing of the
2.5K a month?
Jump the Shark? Nuke the Fridge? Google needs a nap and wake up less
-tom(being laid off was my best career choice yet..i love me the kid
