90% of the shit that gets written involves bridging and adapting
between different utopian ideals that partially implement what you
describe in the rest of your email.

I remember a blog posting about how great Java programmers were
because they could discuss at length the advantages and disadvantages
of 7 different inversion-of-control containers, while .NET programmers
are bad because they have never heard of the term (and instead just
use the one container given to them).


What you describe is a massive undertaking - and one rife with
problems that when resolved result is a mess of not quite right
solutions. Your platonic ideals will not help you here.
