Good stuff:


I am a bit troubled by the following wording, though:

   "[Craig Venter has] also developed the ability to construct an  
artificial genome,
    which should allow him to replace the one that the bacteria  
already has."

Puts one in a rather comic book frame of mind. ;-)  Preface with  
"After being bitten by a radioactive white-faced gibbon while working  
in the lab late one night..."
