While I've described them myself as islands of central planning in a sea of markets, I've never fully understood the "fascism" label.

While they share some characteristics with fascism (many of them I would argue fascism shares with socialism too, although not all), there seem to me to be some defining characteristics of fascism that corporations do not have: in particular the denial of economic motives over heroic ones.
