There is a TED talk by someone who has studied the practices of
centenarians. The upshot with regard to exercise (IIRC) is that they
had integrated moderate exercise into their daily lives. Getting off
the couch is important. Running, not so much. Which isn't to say it is
bad, but just that it isn't the sine qua non of what kind of exercise
matters.
