We already have had 24 cores in dual-socket. In general 
the saturation appears to be at 64 cores, even for
DB loads (e.g. PostgreSQL).

I'm expecting GPGPU (OpenCL) and Tilera/Xeon Phi/ARM 
cluster-on-a-mesh before we're in 64 (or 32) SMP cores.
