Most corporations have in place the means to prevent any single person
from destroying the company. It's called proper corporate governance
and shareholders take this very seriously. This sounds like a failing
of an absentee board rather than a crazy individual.
Also, similar to his reading of fiction, this author's interpretation is
a little too simplistic. Sears has a lot of problems--the larger
percent of them having to do with markets and competitors and nothing to
do with how crazy the person is that is re-arranging the deck chairs.
