I had the stupidest issue the other day. Spring application context, 
which is a type of container, where repeated calls annotated with 
@Scope(PROTOTYPE) (versus SINGLETON) on the development Windows machine 
correctly reused the object but on Linux it did not, even with the same 
exact validated jvm and build number.
