Cloudscape is great, pure Java and fairly cheap to license. Informix is the
parent company of Cloudscape. It is part of the J2EE sdk from Sun or you
can get a trial copy from Cloudscape.

I don't know of any *free* Java databases, anyone else?

Subject: databases? Re: Open Source transaction stuff

Thanks for all the replies.

While we're on a roll, does anyone have experience with Pure Java
databases?
Preferably (though not necessarily) Open Source?
MySQL is nice and all, but I'd prefer something at least with better
JDBC
support.

Is anyone familiar with InstantDB?
