Examples? I sure haven't seen any poiicy changes (or hints of such)
resulting from these brute force efforts.

Not that SETI@home is particularly worthwhile; they purposely release
unoptimized clients because they can't supply enough data to keep
fully optimized clients busy.

The idle cycles on my machine are dedicated to power-saving. Reducing
heat-generation is a worthy goal. I may consider ECDL, since y'all are
at least willing to provide source.
