Internet banking
================
Hewlett-Packard is providing Web banking technology for the
Huntington National Bank's Internet-based service. The
technology is also used by Security First Network Bank (SFNB
- see TN25), which has opened more than 2000 online accounts
since October.

Financial transactions in the Huntington Web Bank are
protected by HP's Virtual Vault web security technology, based
on a trusted operating system from HP and SecureWare, widely
used in the US defence market. The Virtual Bank Manager
software, developed by SFNB's subsidiary, Five Paces, lets
banks customise their online product offerings. The system
includes Netscape's Commerce Server, with added security based
on the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
